(I’m not going to get into the “is boric acid safe or not” question here, because that’s a whole ‘nother can of worms.) Borax and boric acid are found together in many places, especially volcanic areas where the borax has naturally reacted with sulfur. – borax is just fine to use in my household cleaning routine. It’s also fine to use, occasionally, as a hair treatment … I’ll just be keeping it out of the reach of kids and my two cats.
eventually i got to orange county, then the valley and finally in los angeles now. I mean it actually broke me & has over ended me as a person. All those years of not coping with our marital bad and abuse finally caught up with me.I still made a couple of escape attempts after that but none of them were successful. Life coach, career counselor, psychiatrist, psychologist, church, yoga, meditation, you name it, I have tried it.I have read so many "self help" and "find your calling" books it is ridiculous. I usually don't stay consistent with anything, though right now I am attempting to form a consistent relationship with a psychologist. I have never felt fully happy because even as a child I was semi-conscious of the fact that my parents were dealing with heavy things.I have generally made poor decisions in most facets of my life.I do have some practical plans right now which I am not terribly excited about but I do see as a way to solve some of my problems (CNA route to nursing school).
I just don't know how I am going to survive with the sadness and frustration that I feel so much of the time.
Also time does help, Myself I also suffer from anxiety, depression, and a boatful of anger.
With me as I got older the symptoms seemed to quiet down.
When I was about 19 I decided that I didn't care anymore and I was just going to drink a lot and have a lot of sex. I realized around 23 that I wanted a better life and started making attempts at getting that but the booze had hooked me and it took a very long time to give it up.
Meanwhile I was searching for someone to love me and take care of me and perhaps save me..disastrous results.
Natural beauty books are rife with suggesting it as a hair softener. And upset commenters have left diatribes and sent consternating emails about my recipes using borax proclaiming it “toxic! With no surprise; at least half of the studies I’ve found and citations I’ve read have listed their testing matter as “either sodium borate or boric acid.” The difference between the two is: Boric acid is produced when borax is reacted with another acid (like sulfuric or hydrochloric acid). Here’s one more bit of info for you: Boron is an essential mineral that the body needs for bone building, immune function, and brain function. But, like anything, it’s needed in small moderation. That’s a little extreme, but I use it as a gauge as to how harmful borax really is. It doesn’t cause cancer, accumulate in the body, or absorb through the skin. In fact, the largest borax (borate) mine in the world – found in Boron, California – is considered by many to be the most ecologically sound and environmentally sustainable mine in the United States.
